Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the API, authentication, and data connectivity layer by designing and implementing RESTful services that link mission applications to a backend data platform built on AWS GovCloud.

• Develop and deploy full stack features throughout the application layer, closely collaborating with the front-end developer responsible for the UI implementation.

• Integrate with backend data services, including relational databases (Aurora or Amazon RDS), AWS Lambda-based processing pipelines, and AWS Glue.

• Design and execute role-based access control, session management, and authentication methodologies suitable for environments up to IL6.

• Work directly with the HCD researcher and front-end developer during collaborative sessions, influencing technical decisions that impact user experience instead of solely implementing specifications.

• Participate in backend architecture discussions across multiple application builds, establishing repeatable integration patterns for the application portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• At least 3 years of experience in full stack development; comfortable managing both backend services and application-layer integration.

• Strong backend proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.

• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services that facilitate scalable, maintainable integration across distributed application components.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, or Amazon RDS, including schema design, SQL development, and operational support.

• Knowledge of AWS services pertinent to application integration: API Gateway, Lambda, IAM, S3, RDS/Aurora, and related GovCloud services.

• Proven experience in implementing authentication and role-based access control within web applications.

• Capability to work quickly and iterate without the need for exhaustive specifications or detailed tickets.
