Full-Stack AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design and implement a comprehensive data ingestion and intelligence framework for enterprise media clients.

• Develop dual-mode ingestion processes for creative elements and advertising performance metrics.

• Create and store multimodal embeddings in both vector and structured formats.

• Develop AI agent tools for natural language search, comparison, and reasoning tasks.

• Build the React creative intelligence library and a user-friendly query interface.

• Design robust, idempotent ingestion pipelines featuring queues, retries, backpressure, deduplication, and schema evolution.

• Establish low-latency retrieval pipelines for AI agent utilities.

• Deliver agent-style systems equipped with tool usage, state management, and multi-step reasoning capabilities.

• Take ownership of system design, deployment, monitoring, iteration, and reliability.

• Influence technology stack decisions informed by practical experience.

• Partner with product and enterprise stakeholders to convert requirements into scalable systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in TypeScript.

• Hands-on experience with serverless or edge computing platforms such as Cloudflare Workers, Vercel, Lambda, or Deno Deploy.

• Proven track record of building durable, idempotent ingestion pipelines that incorporate queuing, retry logic, backpressure management, deduplication, and schema evolution.

• In-depth understanding of embeddings, chunking strategies, and fine-tuning retrieval quality.

• At least one agent-style system successfully deployed to production featuring tool usage and stateful, multi-step workflows.

• Fluent in React, with expertise in modern patterns and component architecture.

• Capability to navigate two cloud environments and discern when to utilize edge computing versus managed data/AI services.

• Previous experience in a remote work setting.

• Proficient with remote collaboration platforms such as Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Linear, or similar tools.

• Experience with companies based in the US or UK is highly preferred.

• Preferred qualifications: production RAG experience; familiarity with current embedding models; experience with ETL, pipeline observability, or retrieval evaluation; background in adtech, performance marketing, or marketing analytics; practical knowledge of vector databases.
