
Full Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor of Interior Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Provide cutting-edge undergraduate studio and lecture courses in Interior Design, covering areas such as residential, commercial, and furniture design.
• Incorporate modern tools and platforms, including CAD, BIM (Revit), 3D modeling, and digital fabrication technologies into the curriculum.
• Create and revise course materials to align with industry standards, professional competencies, and accreditation criteria (e.g., CIDA standards when applicable).
• Mentor students through senior capstone projects, portfolio creation, and adherence to industry-standard practices.
• Uphold stringent assessment standards and studio critique methodologies.
• Sustain an active research agenda and/or professional practice within Interior Design or related disciplines.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals or present findings at esteemed academic and professional conferences.
• Participate in professional practice, exhibitions, design competitions, or consultancy projects.
• Collaborate across disciplines and seek external funding opportunities.
• PhD in Interior Design from a recognized institution.
• At least five years of experience in higher education teaching, demonstrating a strong record of excellence in delivering studio-based courses.
• A compelling portfolio that highlights professional and/or research-based design work.
• Expertise in industry-standard software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), SketchUp, 3D Max, and Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as rendering engines like V-Ray or Lumion.
• Demonstrated evidence of research, publications in peer-reviewed journals, or acknowledged creative practice.
• Experience in effectively navigating multicultural and diverse academic settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of accreditation procedures (e.g., CIDA or similar international standards).
• Proficiency in sustainable design, environmental systems, smart interiors, or human-centered design.
• Additional industry experience beyond academic roles.
• Experience in supervising senior capstone projects and supporting student portfolio development.
• A proven track record of successful interdisciplinary collaborations and obtaining external funding.
• Actively participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
• Assist in program assessment, accreditation documentation, and quality assurance efforts.
• Engage in student recruitment, outreach initiatives, exhibitions, competitions, and community involvement.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic community.
