This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the centralized assignment of waste tonnages to disposal outlets, ensuring optimal use of contracted capacity and alignment with the Group's disposal strategy.
• Take ownership of short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts for waste generation and disposal capacity, identifying, communicating, and managing constraints, opportunities, and operational risks.
• Manage the fuel disposal budget, monitoring expenditures and cost allocations while enhancing routing, allocation, and utilization efficiencies to achieve £/tonne targets.
• Oversee existing disposal contracts and maintain relationships with offtakers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and resolving issues with key stakeholders. Assist in the delivery of new disposal contracts when necessary.
• Serve as the primary liaison between waste-generating sites and disposal locations, fostering strong relationships and ensuring compliance with allocation and capacity plans.
• Utilize data, reporting, and analysis to enhance forecasting accuracy, aid in decision-making, and uncover optimization opportunities.
• Promote continuous improvement in scheduling, including routing efficiencies, blending opportunities, optimal disposal points for waste, and operational enhancements.
• Ensure that team and disposal activities adhere to health & safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, SOPs, and SLAs. Develop and update team procedures and provide support during audits when necessary.
• Lead a team and take responsibility for their professional development.
• Collaborate with the Fuels team and the broader organization to enhance contract performance, cost control, disposal strategy, and the implementation of the Fuels operating model, processes, and governance.
• Proven experience in planning and scheduling within a logistics or operational setting, preferably in the waste sector.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in budget management and cost control.
• Previous experience in line management and team capability development.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language.
• Valid UK driving license with the ability to travel as necessary.
• Familiarity with logistics and/or planning software.
• Knowledge or experience in waste-to-fuels operations.
