French Canadian Accessibility Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assess the accessibility of localized digital content in specific languages, including web pages, applications, and documents.

• Act as a native-language expert reviewer for accessibility components in translations.

• Verify the accuracy of language codes in HTML and PDF metadata while identifying any mixed-language content.

• Perform in-language screen reader testing using native-language screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, or Narrator.

• Examine translated accessible text for precision, fluidity, and clarity.

• Analyze captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions for correctness and synchronization.

• Document findings with WCAG/PDF-UA references and participate in review discussions with the QA Lead as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Chinese Simplified; you should be the definitive authority on the naturalness and comprehensibility of translated content.

• Proven hands-on experience in testing digital content with assistive technology (AT).

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 AA and EN 301 549 standards.

• Capability to assess content from a native speaker's accessibility viewpoint — focusing not only on technical compliance but also on real-world usability for screen reader users of the language.

• Reliable access to necessary devices and operating systems to simulate real-world usage in the target locale.

• Strong written communication abilities in English for defect reporting and general correspondence (preferred).

• Experience with PDF accessibility testing using PAC 3 or Adobe Acrobat Pro Accessibility Checker (preferred).

• Familiarity with internationalization, localization, and translation processes; understanding how accessibility elements may be impacted during format conversion (preferred).

• Personal experience with assistive technology (preferred).
