Freelance Instructor – Retail Consultation and Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Conduct live instruction and practical training by designing engaging online sessions that share expertise from everyday retail experiences, particularly focusing on customer consultation, sales, product knowledge, customer communication, and complaint management.

• Implement curriculum and didactics by teaching the content of Partial Qualification 4 (TQ4) according to the nationwide module standard, utilizing diverse, practice-oriented teaching methods such as case studies, role plays, group work, and simulations.

• Teach essential sales competencies by explaining practical subjects including the phases of a sales conversation, needs analysis, argumentation, objection handling, closing techniques, quality features, seals/certifications, as well as legal frameworks and occupational safety.

• Provide participant support and skills assessment by preparing participants for the module-concluding skills assessment in both written and practical formats, conducting learning checks, and offering constructive feedback on their progress.

• Assist during the company-based qualification phase by coordinating with the program lead to support participants during the workplace learning phase, ensuring a meaningful integration of theory and practice.

• Utilize teaching materials and digital learning environment by working with provided resources and digital tools such as Moodle and Office applications, while incorporating current, practice-relevant content as necessary.

• Collaborate with the team by coordinating closely with the program lead, administration, and other instructors to help maintain a reliable and high-quality learning environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possess practical experience in retail, having completed vocational training in retail, such as a retail salesperson or in a comparable field.

• Have solid professional experience with several years of hands-on retail experience, ideally in roles involving consultation, sales, inventory management, purchasing, or warehouse processes.

• Exhibit subject-matter competence in module topics, confidently conveying information on sales psychology, conversation techniques, needs analysis, product knowledge, complaint management, and legal basics.

• Demonstrate teaching sensibility, enjoying the process of teaching practice-relevant content and explaining topics in a structured, motivating, and comprehensible manner, particularly for adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

• Hold experience in adult education or vocational training, ideally having worked with adult learners or trainees and understanding the requirements for practice-oriented knowledge transfer.

• Show digital affinity by being comfortable with virtual teaching, confidently using digital tools, and creating lively and interactive online lessons.

• Meet formal suitability criteria, with an AEVO certificate (trainer aptitude) being desirable; alternatively, a willingness to obtain it is expected. Additionally, there should be no disqualifying reasons under the German Vocational Training Act (BBiG) § 30.

• Operate in a freelance setup, working independently on a fee basis, providing necessary documentation, and being flexible and available for online live sessions according to the course schedule.

• Possess very good German language skills, both spoken and written.
