Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese – CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Translate and proofread documents related to Life Sciences from English to Simplified Chinese (China).

• Serve as a linguistic point of contact for clients at TransPerfect.

• Review and address client concerns and quality-related matters.

• Identify root causes and provide documented responses along with corrective measures.

• Uphold language quality standards across various projects and accounts.

• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides effectively.

• Collaborate with Project Managers regarding requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations.

• Collect and communicate client feedback efficiently.

• Oversee a team of linguists, including task assignments and performance feedback.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications and quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in both English and Simplified Chinese (China).

• Proficiency in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, or CTD Clinical domains.

• Keen attention to detail, particularly in spelling and grammar precision.

• Capacity to maintain professionalism and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.

• Strong client communication skills, including the ability to handle complaints and feedback tactfully.

• Ability to manage, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to fellow linguists.

• Excellent organizational and collaborative capabilities.

• Fulfill at least one qualification pathway: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a comparable program with significant translation training; or 2 years of professional translation experience coupled with a college degree; or 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by a relevant government authority.

• Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement.

• Applicants are required to complete translation and MTPE assessments.

• An academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience translating regulatory or pharmaceutical documents is preferred.

• Familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content is preferred.

• Prior experience in lead, reviewer, or quality management roles is preferred.

• Experience with language asset management and CAT tools is preferred.
