Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese, CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China).

• Act as a linguistic point of contact for clients at TransPerfect.

• Review and address client complaints and issues related to quality.

• Identify root causes and provide documented responses along with corrective actions.

• Uphold language quality standards across various projects and accounts.

• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides effectively.

• Collaborate with Project Managers regarding requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations.

• Collect and communicate client feedback for ongoing and future projects.

• Coordinate and oversee a team of linguists, including task assignments and feedback provision.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications and quality benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both English and Simplified Chinese (China).

• Proficiency in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical areas.

• Keen attention to detail, particularly in spelling and grammar accuracy.

• Capacity to maintain professionalism and produce high-quality work within tight deadlines.

• Strong client communication skills, with the ability to address complaints and feedback tactfully.

• Capability to manage, mentor, and provide clear feedback to other linguists.

• Excellent organizational and collaborative skills across functions.

• Meet at least one qualification pathway: degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a similar translation-trained program; 2 years of professional translation experience along with a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate from an appropriate government authority.

• Applicants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

• Successful completion of complimentary translation and MTPE assessments.

• Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.

• Preferred: experience in translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents.

• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content.

• Preferred: previous experience in lead, reviewer, or quality management roles, including handling client feedback or complaints.

• Preferred: experience with translation memories, termbases, style guides, and CAT tools.
