Freelance, Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese – CTD Module Language Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Convert and edit Life Science documents from English to Simplified Chinese (China).

• Act as a linguistic liaison for clients on behalf of TransPerfect.

• Evaluate and address client concerns and quality-related matters.

• Identify root causes and supply documented responses along with corrective measures.

• Uphold language quality standards across all projects and accounts.

• Maintain translation memories, glossaries, and style guides effectively.

• Collaborate with Project Managers regarding project needs, scope, timelines, and client expectations.

• Collect and communicate client feedback, integrating it into current and future projects.

• Oversee and mentor a team of linguists, including task assignments and providing constructive feedback.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications and quality benchmarks.

• Translate CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and CTD Clinical documentation.

• Guarantee precision, consistency, and adherence to client and regulatory terminology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in both English and Simplified Chinese (China).

• Proficiency in one or more designated CTD areas: Quality, Non-Clinical, or Clinical.

• Keen attention to detail, particularly in spelling and grammatical accuracy.

• Capability to maintain professionalism while delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.

• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to manage complaints and feedback tactfully.

• Experience in managing, mentoring, and providing clear feedback to fellow linguists.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and cross-functional teams.

• Candidates must fulfill at least one of the following criteria: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a comparable translation training program; two years of professional translation experience alongside a college degree; five years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by a recognized government authority.

• Preferred educational background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline.

• Experience in translating regulatory or pharmaceutical documents.

• Familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content.

• Previous experience in lead, reviewer, or quality management roles, including managing client feedback or complaints.

• Experience with language asset management, such as translation memories, termbases, and style guides.

• Proficient in using CAT tools.

• Candidates will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

• Applicants must complete translation and MTPE assessments.

• Ability to provide a per-word translation rate and hourly MTPE rate in USD.

• Proficiency in English and Simplified Chinese is mandatory.
