This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee responses to information requests made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
• Prepare responses for each request and submit them to the FOIA office.
• Analyze and assess requests for information in accordance with FOIA guidelines.
• Draft responses to both standard and complex information requests.
• Gather and compile statistical data for disclosure.
• Collaborate with both internal and external offices and programs to gather information for release.
• Collect relevant information from custodians.
• Utilize an electronic tracking system to monitor, manage, and complete FOIA tasks.
• Maintain comprehensive case files.
• Identify priorities and autonomously organize tasks to meet set deadlines.
• Develop internal procedures to ensure effective management of deadlines and progress tracking.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of supported government programs and their responsibilities.
• 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience.
• Direct experience with FOIA is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and research competencies.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
• Experience working with immigrant or refugee communities and anti-trafficking initiatives is preferred.
