This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assess fraud vectors across SquareTrade's platform, encompassing both first-party and third-party fraud types, to formulate strategies that identify malicious actors and enhance user experience.
• Create and sustain metrics and KPIs that evaluate risk mitigation strategies, while effectively communicating progress to key stakeholders and leadership.
• Take ownership of the fraud rule lifecycle for designated areas, including identifying opportunities, developing business cases, designing strategies, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization.
• Review existing rules and controls for overlap, effectiveness, operational impact, and potential to streamline or reinforce coverage.
• Collaborate with Fraud Operations to ensure alignment on policies, procedures, and investigative practices, while addressing operational challenges.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support fraud prevention and business expansion, balancing customer experience with operational efficiency.
• Persuade stakeholders throughout the organization to prioritize and enact fraud mitigation strategies that reconcile risk reduction, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
• Leverage extensive complex data with data-driven analytical techniques to observe customer behaviors, identify trends in fraudulent activities, and develop strategies to reduce risk and enhance customer experience.
• Actively seek new opportunities and strategies to fortify controls, processes, and systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third parties to track risk trends, apply industry best practices, and ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Proven ability to independently recognize issues, formulate hypotheses, and implement high-impact solutions with minimal guidance.
• Exceptional prioritization skills, capable of managing competing demands, navigating ambiguity, and making sound trade-off decisions aligned with business goals.
• Established experience influencing cross-functional teams to adopt risk strategies, process modifications, or product enhancements.
• 3-5 years of experience in formulating risk rules, strategies, policies, and procedures that guide user behavior, utilizing both internal and third-party capabilities, managing them end-to-end.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in using SQL, Python, R, SAS, or similar tools to assess strategy performance and discover opportunities.
• Demonstrated capability to effectively engage with senior leaders and executives to present complex findings and outline progress, plans, and opportunities for resolution.
• Experience in managing fraud prevention rule systems, device profiling, customer verification, and document verification technologies.
