This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), clinical protocols, and workflows for medication management prior to client consultations.
• Establish the prescribing aspect of the practice from the ground up.
• Prescribe medications that align with identity-affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients.
• Perform clinical assessments.
• Ensure timely and HIPAA-compliant documentation in the Avon EMR.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to enhance protocols and the care model.
• Utilize client-care insights to continuously refine and improve the model.
• Educate clients on the science, safety, and experience of mental health care.
• Provide affirming, trauma-informed care while establishing therapeutic rapport.
• Work in conjunction with therapists to integrate medication management with individual therapy and evidence-based trauma treatment.
• Report to the Clinical Director and Medical Director.
• Must be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with active DEA registration and full practice authority in Virginia.
• Demonstrated experience and strong commitment to working with LGBTQIA+ clients.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in prescribing and adjusting medications across various clinical indications, demographics, and acuity levels.
• Cultural competence in delivering affirming, identity-centered care.
• Comfortable operating in a fully remote, telehealth environment.
• Proficient in clinical assessment and maintaining timely, HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Experience in developing psychiatric SOPs from scratch.
• Background in serving clients at the intersections of the LGBTQIA+ community, including BIPOC and neurodivergent individuals.
• Understanding of the collaborative relationship between medications and psychotherapy.
• Familiarity with outcomes-based, measurement-informed care practices.
• Dual licensure in Virginia and Maryland is highly preferred.
