This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the Product Vision and Roadmap: Define and prioritize the roadmap, ensuring a balance between student outcomes, teacher requirements, and district priorities while upholding a high standard of quality.
• Maintain a close connection to the classroom: Engage with students, teachers, and district leaders to gain insights into their needs and keep the product aligned with classroom realities.
• Lead the initiative for Special Education expansion: Develop and sequence the special education roadmap to enhance Medley’s primary multilingual learner product.
• Collaborate with Engineering for product delivery: Work closely with the Engineering team to transform concepts into launched features, creating an enjoyable user experience and interface for both students and teachers.
• Establish Product Metrics and Operating Cadence: Set key product metrics and operational rhythms that inform decisions and foster a robust product organization.
• Build and manage the Product Team: Initially, the role will be hands-on and resourceful, but over time, you will cultivate a product team that drives adoption, retention, and impact.
• Empathy for Students and Teachers. You understand that classroom reality is not abstract; you have designed for or closely collaborated with children, teachers, or educators.
• Product Expertise. You possess experience in developing and launching products that are valued by users. You can articulate the trade-offs made and reflect on what you would approach differently now.
• Informed AI Product Judgment. You are proficient in utilizing AI in your work and possess strong insights on its appropriate application within trustworthy classroom settings. While you are aware of the advancements in AI capabilities, your priority lies in creating useful, reliable, and responsible products rather than chasing trends.
• User Research Acumen. You excel at learning from teachers and students and translating their feedback into more refined roadmap decisions.
• Clarity of Thought. You simplify complexity, producing clear specifications, articulating trade-offs, distinguishing important information from noise, and helping engineers, educators, executives, and district partners grasp what is significant and why.
• Commercial Awareness. You recognize that effective K-12 product decisions must consider adoption, implementation, renewals, procurement, and stakeholder trust.
