
Forward Deployment Engineer – AI & Agentic Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage directly with VIP customers to gain insights into their business processes, challenges, operational hurdles, and potential areas where AI or agentic solutions can deliver measurable value.
• Design, prototype, and assist in the implementation of AI-powered solutions utilizing large language models, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, API integrations, automation tools, and human-in-the-loop review methodologies.
• Convert customer needs into solution designs, technical architectures, implementation strategies, prototypes, and recommendations for production readiness.
• Facilitate AI adoption across various use cases, including software quality, test automation, knowledge management, document analysis, workflow automation, case management, citizen services, operational reporting, and decision support.
• Develop functional demos, proof-of-concepts, pilots, and reusable accelerators that can be tailored to different VIP customer engagements.
• Assist in the transition from prototype to production by defining technical requirements, integration necessities, security considerations, testing methodologies, support frameworks, and adoption strategies.
• Aid customers in assessing AI use cases while considering data privacy, security, compliance, auditability, accuracy, explainability, and operational risks.
• Lead or assist in customer workshops aimed at discovering AI opportunities, designing solutions, planning pilots, assessing implementation readiness, and strategizing for adoption.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts to both executive and technical audiences.
• Produce customer-facing documentation, such as solution briefs, architecture summaries, implementation roadmaps, pilot plans, operating procedures, and adoption guides.
• Educate customer teams on utilizing, managing, evaluating, and enhancing AI-enabled solutions.
• Guide customers beyond experimentation by pinpointing practical steps necessary for adoption, governance, support, and realizing long-term value.
• Collaborate with VIP delivery teams to embed AI capabilities into comprehensive consulting, implementation, quality assurance, DevOps, data, and application modernization initiatives.
• Share insights gained across VIP’s SLG and Commercial delivery teams.
• Provide technical advice to VIP consultants integrating AI into their existing service offerings.
• Contribute to the evolving delivery methodology at VIP for responsible and effective AI adoption.
• Over 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solution architect, forward deployed engineer, technical consultant, implementation consultant, software engineer, automation architect, AI engineer, or systems integration consultant.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of various AI/LLM platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft Copilot/Azure AI, Google Gemini, and AWS AI services.
• Direct experience in designing, building, or implementing AI-enabled solutions, automation systems, and enterprise integrations.
• Familiarity with agentic AI solution patterns, including tool usage, multi-step agents, AI workflow orchestration, MCP, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation frameworks.
• Solid technical foundation in several areas: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, prompt engineering, data integration, workflow automation, test automation, DevOps, and enterprise application integration.
• Capability to work closely with customers and software vendors to gather requirements, assess feasibility, design solutions, clarify trade-offs, and support implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in creating technical documentation, solution designs, architecture summaries, implementation plans, or customer enablement materials.
• Ability to operate independently in uncertain customer environments while adhering to structured delivery practices.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer workshops, project meetings, and onsite delivery activities.
• Background in ERP/CRM implementations, enterprise workflow automation, case management, software quality, test automation, DevOps, application modernization, and digital transformation.
• Understanding of the concepts and significance of AI governance, responsible AI, model evaluation, data privacy, compliance, and security reviews.
