Forward Deployed Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with enterprise clients as a strategically deployed advisor for leading AI laboratories and major AI firms.

• Manage the transition from signed contracts to tangible customer value.

• Facilitate discovery sessions, map out customer organizations, pinpoint high-value AI applications, and establish success metrics.

• Serve as the product manager for the customer's AI challenges.

• Convert customer requirements and feature requests into clear, prioritized engineering specifications.

• Integrate stakeholder needs into project plans while overseeing timelines, dependencies, and potential risks.

• Keep leadership informed through executive summaries, presentations, and strategic roadmaps.

• Conduct workshops, office hours, and practical sessions to assist non-technical teams in developing AI workflows.

• Develop curricula, instructional guides, and playbooks tailored to various teams and roles.

• Monitor adoption, usage, and results; identify obstacles and facilitate the transition of deployments into production.

• Scale successful implementations into broader rollouts and new areas of focus.

• Relay customer and field insights back to partner product teams and enhance Lazer's deployment playbook.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in client-facing consulting, strategy, product, or project management roles.

• Proven history of managing projects from inception to completion.

• Ideally, experience in a technology, data, or AI-focused practice at an MBB, Big Four, or similar firm.

• Practical daily experience with LLMs, agents, and AI workflow tools.

• Capability to articulate AI concepts to executives, skeptical end-users, and engineers.

• Skill in identifying underlying issues and reconciling competing stakeholder interests.

• Experience working closely with engineering or data teams; technical proficiency in software, integrations, and data.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and operating without precise specifications.

• Previous experience in a forward-deployed role or an AI startup is advantageous.

• Experience in account expansion is beneficial but not essential.

• Ability to read code or develop simple prototypes, automations, or integrations is a plus.

• Experience in an AI company or deploying enterprise AI solutions at scale is a plus.

• Familiarity with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Glean, or similar platforms in a professional context is advantageous.

• Product management experience within a software company is a nice addition.

• Background in enablement, instructional design, or change management is a plus.

• Knowledge of RAG, MCPs, and agent orchestration is a plus.
