Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams on technical customer interactions, implementations, and onboarding processes.

• Troubleshoot customer issues related to APIs, integrations, and production systems.

• Develop and design product features, internal tools, and automations that enhance customer experience and increase engineering efficiency.

• Manage engineering projects from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, implementation, and deployment.

• Engage directly with customers to grasp complex workflows and convert them into product enhancements.

• Work in close partnership with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure outstanding customer results.

• Contribute to the enhancement of APIs, integrations, developer experience, and operational tools.

• Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor for some of the company’s largest clients.

• Allocate approximately half of your time to direct customer engagement and the other half to software development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proficient programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js preferred), or expertise in another backend language with a willingness to learn.

• Experience with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Strong debugging capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable working directly with clients and articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Possess an ownership mindset—enjoy taking projects from concept to production.

• Thrive in a startup environment: adaptable to ambiguity and eager to take on diverse roles.

• Experience in building APIs or backend services is a plus.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Redis, or modern cloud infrastructure is advantageous.

• Previous experience with SaaS integrations or enterprise clients is beneficial.

• Background in fintech, accounting, payments, or tax technology is a plus.

• Experience in an early-stage startup environment is a plus.
