Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly (either remotely or on-site as required) with customer engineering teams to design and implement real-time applications utilizing LiveKit.

• Develop scalable architectures tailored for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform scenarios.

• Create prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications to expedite customer development efforts.

• Assist customers in navigating SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and production deployment strategies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production settings.

• Facilitate technical workshops and architecture sessions with developers and product teams.

• Convert customer requirements into technical insights that guide product and platform evolution.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance the developer experience, documentation, and tools.

• Contribute code, examples, or enhancements to LiveKit's open-source ecosystem as needed.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, aiding customers in successfully launching and scaling applications on LiveKit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid engineering background with over 5 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages, including Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.

• Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems.

• Capable of rapidly grasping complex systems and debugging issues in real-world scenarios.

• Excellent communicator who can engage directly with customer engineering teams and internal product teams.

• Comfortable functioning in fast-paced, low-process environments where initiative and ownership are valued.

• Enthusiastic about working hands-on with customers to address complex technical implementation challenges.
