Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of customer solutions from start to finish.

• Quickly prototype, refine, and implement solutions in live operational settings where the stakes are high and timelines are tight.

• Provide continuous value to customers.

• Establish trusted relationships from individual contributors to executive sponsors, serving as the technical representative for our company.

• Manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

• Handle several customer engagements simultaneously, prioritizing based on customer needs and team capacity.

• Set expectations proactively, renegotiate transparently when circumstances change, work independently, and take responsibility for the results.

• Function as a cohesive team, similar to a SEAL team.

• Enhance the product's quality.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to transform field insights into lasting platform capabilities rather than temporary solutions.

• Encourage adoption and facilitate change.

• Coach customer operators and assist their teams through solution transitions to ensure that new workflows are effectively implemented.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in AI & Agentic Development.

• Practical experience in developing LLM-based applications, RAG systems, multi-agent workflows, tool-use patterns, and prompt/context engineering.

• Knowledge of modern AI-assisted development tools (such as Copilot, Claude Code, and agentic IDE workflows).

• Comprehension of agentic orchestration patterns, including when to utilize single versus multi-agent architectures and managing memory and state.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: you have created and delivered real systems, not merely scripts.

• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Python is strongly preferred) and capability to read and contribute across a diverse codebase.

• Experience with REST and streaming APIs, authentication methods, and integration with enterprise systems.

• Skill in building and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, serving, and monitoring using tools like Airflow, Kafka, dbt, or similar alternatives.

• Familiarity with contemporary data platforms (such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or comparable), including data modeling and performance principles.

• Strong debugging skills with real-world data in production settings.

• Prior experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or operations domains is a valuable asset, but not a requirement.

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions engineering, or a technical-founder position.

• Prior involvement in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions engineering, forward deployment, technical consulting, or a startup where you held multiple responsibilities is highly regarded, though not mandatory.
