Forward Deployed Engineer

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority on-site, becoming proficient in the customer's domain to identify and address real-world friction points before they escalate.

• Design and execute data architectures that expedite AI/ML training pipelines, ensuring rapid data access across hybrid-cloud environments.

• Develop custom integrations, automation scripts, and "last-mile" solutions that connect Hammerspace’s core product to the client’s unique infrastructure.

• Leverage your proximity to the action to uncover new business challenges, opportunities for expansion, and emerging workloads that Hammerspace can address.

• Collaborate with our Rotational Sustaining Engineering team to convert field-discovered bugs into core product features, ensuring that local fixes evolve into global platform advantages.

• Simplify complex technical challenges into clear, actionable insights for both end-users (data scientists/IT admins) and executive leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of GPU orchestration, AI/ML data pipelines, and high-performance file systems (NFS, SMB, S3).

• Expertise in high-speed networking (InfiniBand, RoCE, 100GbE+) with the capability to troubleshoot complex routing, latency, and throughput issues in a distributed environment.

• Proficient in Python, Go, or C++, with the ability to develop production-grade tools and integrations that interact with Hammerspace APIs.

• Strong understanding of Linux internals, including kernel tuning, storage stack performance, and containerization (Kubernetes/Docker).

• Capability to rapidly master the Global Data Environment architecture and implement it across diverse storage and cloud providers.
