Forward Deployed BI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients to collect, challenge, and refine requirements for reporting and analytics.

• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical views utilizing health plan and clinical quality data.

• Utilize BI tools needed for the engagement, including those from Medisolv and the clients.

• Write and enhance queries that support dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs.

• Work closely with internal teams focused on data modeling, data acquisition, and product development to ensure data accuracy.

• Transform recurring client requests into standardized reporting for a wider client audience.

• Deliver presentations directly to client stakeholders and manage the feedback process until sign-off.

• Leverage AI tools to boost productivity and expedite delivery.

• Familiarize yourself with Medisolv's personnel, products, departments, platform, data model, and subject matter expertise.

• Observe live client interactions during the first 30 days.

• Manage BI deliverables for an active client engagement within the first 60 days.

• Take the lead on the BI workstream for assigned accounts within the first 90 days.

• Incorporate client requirements into the product roadmap and work in tandem with internal client account teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience as a BI engineer.

• Strong client-facing capabilities and comfort in direct interactions with external stakeholders.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both client teams and internal stakeholders simultaneously.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of various BI tools and the capacity to quickly learn new tools.

• Strong skills in SQL and query optimization.

• Significant experience in the healthcare sector.

• Capability to work from ambiguous or changing requirements and transform them into concrete deliverables.

• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity and speed up delivery.

• Expertise in building solutions within leading BI platforms, with a preference for Power BI, Metabase, and Looker.

• In-depth knowledge of top data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake and Databricks.

• Experience with major cloud service providers like AWS and Azure.

• Preferred experience with health plans and related data types.

• Direct experience with Medicare Advantage Stars is preferred.

• Familiarity with HEDIS and other clinical quality measure data is preferred.

• Previous experience in forward deployed roles, professional services, or solutions engineering is preferred.

• Experience in converting custom client reporting into repeatable product features is preferred.

• Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language is preferred.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
