This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate closely with strategic clients as a technical partner, guiding them from problem identification to solution implementation and customer adoption.
• Design, construct, implement, and manage agentic Generative AI systems, including APIs, data processing ETL pipelines, integration layers, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and context engineering.
• Operate in cloud, on-premises, and edge/air-gapped environments to ensure software functionality aligns with mission requirements.
• Prototype and implement systems utilizing the core products and design patterns of the Unicorn Delivery Service (UDS); gather insights from the field to drive continuous product enhancements.
• Define the scope, sequence, and leadership of solution delivery: create dynamic roadmaps, prioritize tasks, balance speed, quality, and scope, and collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to ensure clarity and eliminate early blockers.
• Develop reusable patterns for mission environments: create tools, internal frameworks, and playbooks to facilitate faster, safer, and more repeatable future deployments.
• Serve as the technical liaison to customer leadership: engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, foster trust, manage expectations, and ensure successful scaling and mission adoption. This role is customer-facing.
• Willingness and interest to travel to client sites as needed, with flexibility based on personal preferences.
• Over 3 years of engineering or technical deployment experience (backend or full-stack), preferably in customer-facing or government settings (DoD, intelligence, public sector) or similar high-assurance environments.
• Proficient backend engineering skills: capable of producing production-grade code in Python or TypeScript; possess deep knowledge in designing services, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with LLMs or generative AI systems — able to articulate the basics of Context Engineering and comprehend how model behavior relates to product/mission experience, as well as how AI capabilities fit into broader system architectures.
• Strong adaptability in ambiguous situations: define scope, sequence tasks, make trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope; eliminate blockers; deliver under pressure within dynamic mission-driven environments.
• Exceptional communication skills: capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear messages for non-technical stakeholders; collaborate cross-functionally; build relationships with customers and internal teams.
• A mission-oriented mindset, recognizing that our efforts support the defense and freedom of the nation.
