• The Forestry Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, personnel management, and overall performance.
• This position also entails establishing a new service line within Eocene, which requires deep industry knowledge, strategic planning skills, and the ability to perform or interpret industry analyses to guarantee a successful service launch and ongoing viability.
• Manage financial performance and supervise regional operations, including staffing, onboarding, training, fleet management, and meeting client expectations.
• Develop and oversee annual operating and project budgets; manage payroll, billing, revenue tracking, and month-end financial reports; perform monthly variance analysis.
• Ensure that monthly production targets and client performance standards are achieved through effective use of labor, equipment, and resources.
• Supervise the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closeout, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality execution of projects.
• Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials in alignment with operational needs and project specifications.
• Maintain operational metrics and reporting; act as the primary escalation point for operational and client-related issues.
• Manage and cultivate future management and operational staff through coaching, feedback, and performance oversight.
• Collaborate with Human Resources on employee development, performance assessments, and personnel issues.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities; ensure inclusion on bid lists and manage RFPs from submission to successful startup.
• Update and track the internal sales database; conduct sales visits, presentations, and represent the company at industry events.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; enforce safe work practices and the use of PPE.
• Travel to field sites and client locations as necessary and remain available for emergency response situations.
• Have a solid understanding of Eocene Environmental Group’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
• Hold a degree in Forestry or a related field.
• Preferably possess a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a management or leadership role.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
• Must be a Registered Professional Forester.
• Certifications such as SAF Certified Forester or ACF Certified Forester are preferred.
