This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Forensic Underwriting Team.
• Act as the primary escalation point for the Forensic Underwriting Team to address general inquiries and conduct additional file reviews to support loan-level decisions.
• Assess and balance the team's loan assignments and workload.
• Deliver employee development and performance coaching during one-on-one sessions.
• Aid in the onboarding and training of new hires and current employees to enhance their skills across various topics as required.
• Track the team's performance metrics and routinely report to management regarding documentation accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Recommend process enhancements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the Forensic Underwriting Team.
• Analyze production and processes to identify trends that will be communicated to the Forensic Underwriting Manager.
• Gather and monitor department reports to ensure deadlines are met and prioritize aged loans for resolution.
• Offer assistance with tasks and responsibilities of the Forensic Underwriting Team as needed.
• Actively monitor investor posted turnaround times and follow up as necessary to ensure files are reviewed within their stated timelines.
• Review and seek clarification from investors when required to ascertain acceptable methods to address applicable defects.
• Manage a pipeline to guarantee that all loans assigned to the Forensic Underwriting Team are actively being processed.
• Provide updates on the status of assigned loans with investors to the Forensic Underwriting Manager.
• Ensure the Forensic Underwriting Team achieves established monthly objectives.
• Review all rebuttal denials and collaborate with the Forensic Underwriting Manager for additional resolution strategies.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a Team Lead or senior position.
• Experience in managing investor conditions and exceptions.
• Familiarity with Encompass is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations.
• Understanding of Agency, Non-Agency, Bond, and Non-QM guidelines.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to identify solutions and alternative resolutions within acceptable guidelines.
• Proficient in prioritizing and completing multiple tasks within designated timeframes.
• Capable of making independent decisions.
• Excellent customer service skills for interactions with internal employees and external vendors.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
