Forensic Structural/Civil Engineer, B.S., M.S., Ph.D., PE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess damages resulting from water intrusion, wind, vibration, impact, adherence to construction standards, and failures of the building envelope.

• Execute site and evidence inspections utilizing 3D scanning technology and software.

• Carry out testing, perform failure analyses, and gather relevant data.

• Deliver post-damage evaluations that detail repair scopes and temporary support systems for analysis, repair, and structural/foundation design.

• Oversee multiple projects in a dynamic, detail-focused environment.

• Develop and present technical or educational content to clients and at technical conferences.

• Advance professional and technical expertise through ongoing education, technical publications, and scholarly papers.

• Create technical reports summarizing scientific findings and conclusions in a manner accessible to non-experts, and provide testimony during depositions and trials.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering fields.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• A minimum of 10 years of prior experience in forensic engineering and consulting or relevant industry experience.

• Strong foundation in and/or eagerness to learn essential computer programs for incident evaluation.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, an open-minded analytical approach, and a strong curiosity to investigate physical evidence thoroughly.

• General Contractor license is highly preferred.

• Experience serving as an expert witness and providing testimony is strongly preferred.

• U.S. Person status is required: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
