This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Conduct research and summarize findings that align with campaign priorities.
• Assist in policy analysis and the creation of advocacy materials.
• Monitor emerging issues pertinent to climate-friendly food policies.
• Support outreach efforts directed towards coalition partners, community organizations, and stakeholders.
• Aid in grassroots engagement initiatives and campaign mobilization.
• Participate in coalition and community meetings.
• Draft and refresh outreach materials for both digital and print platforms.
• Assist in the creation of blogs, social media content, and advocacy communications.
• Support the preparation of public-facing documents such as letters, op-eds, press releases, and public comments.
• Coordinate logistics for meetings, webinars, briefings, and advocacy events.
• Provide administrative and project support to ensure campaigns remain organized and on track.
• Assist with documentation, meeting notes, and follow-up tasks.
• Currently pursuing or have recently completed studies in environmental studies, public policy, political science, communications, public health, or a related field (or possess equivalent lived, volunteer, or work experience).
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to conduct research and synthesize information effectively.
• Passion for environmental advocacy, food systems, and climate policy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Relevant experience through coursework, internships, student organizations, or volunteer activities related to advocacy or policy.
• Understanding of environmental or food justice issues.
• Experience in creating digital communications or outreach materials.
• Experience in supporting events or community engagement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Airtable.
