This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
β’ Deliver nursing care from the moment of initial patient contact until the transfer of care to the receiving medical facility.
β’ Evaluate, triage, and provide treatment for critically ill or injured patients to ensure their safe transport.
β’ Keep comprehensive documentation of patient care.
β’ Engage in ongoing training related to laboratory, clinical, aviation, safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and continuing education.
β’ Utilize and regularly maintain aircraft medical equipment and supplies; report malfunctions and initiate repairs as needed.
β’ Ensure adequate onboard supplies and maintain the aircraft in a clean and organized manner.
β’ Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings, completing all necessary documentation.
β’ Aid with liftoff checklists and assist pilots with radio communications, navigation, and visual monitoring tasks.
β’ Conduct aircraft safety briefings and adhere to safety standards.
β’ Act as a flight resource for neonatal/pediatric staff and carry out approved advanced medical procedures.
β’ Engage in patient and referring institution follow-up, along with outreach marketing and educational activities.
β’ Mentor and orient new employees and students as assigned.
β’ Participate in meetings, activities, projects, committees, research, and publishing opportunities.
β’ Be available for a minimum of two 24-hour shifts each week at CBS bases where currently licensed.
β’ Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
β’ At least three years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the past five years, or as mandated by state/local EMS regulations.
β’ One year of full-time flight nursing experience is mandatory.
β’ Hold current RN license(s) for states of practice where Air Methods operates CBS locations.
β’ Nurse compact license is preferred.
β’ EMS or MICN certification/licensure as required by state regulations.
β’ Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent, and TNCC/ITLS/PHTLS advanced provider certifications as mandated.
β’ Specialty certification is required: CFRN, CCRN, or CEN.
β’ Advanced trauma course certification is required: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TPATC, or CAMTS-approved advanced trauma course.
β’ Current NRP certification.
β’ NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800, and HazMat.
β’ Weight must not exceed 225 pounds, including an empty flight suit and boots.
β’ Nursing and advanced practice skills should align with the assigned state scope of practice and Medical Director standards.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
β’ Capability to work flexible schedules, including 24-hour shifts, overtime, and on-call rotations.
β’ Strong critical thinking, prioritization, multitasking, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
β’ Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
β’ $30,000 sign-on bonus.
β’ Salary range of $89,406.72β$109,274.88 per year.
