This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Develop, prepare, and execute instructional activities that foster a learning environment where students are meaningfully engaged.
• Identify, select, create, and adjust instructional materials to accommodate the diverse backgrounds, learning preferences, and special needs of students.
• Assist in evaluating evolving curricular demands and propose improvement strategies.
• Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping practices.
• Cultivate a positive atmosphere that encourages student engagement in the learning process.
• Communicate with students, parents, and both internal and external professionals within established timelines.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment for students through activities such as team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and various committees.
• Exemplify professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, peers, and community members.
• Ensure that student growth and achievement are ongoing and suitable for their age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Establish and sustain cooperative relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues, as evaluated by FLVS district/school survey results.
• Achieve specific course and school-wide student performance objectives.
• Demonstrate improvements in student performance.
• Engage in research and presentations related to online teaching, which may include activities like writing articles, hosting workshops, sharing insights for professional development, and participating in student outreach events and activities.
• Participate in blended learning models, which involve both online and in-person instruction and interaction with students at various schools and districts statewide; may require reporting to an assigned school.
• May take responsibility for instructional tutoring.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities through effective work habits, such as meeting deadlines, adhering to schedules, coordinating resources and meetings promptly, and showing respect for others.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area OR proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program AND either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility OR a valid Temporary Certificate in the assigned content area.
• Endorsements as mandated by the Florida Department of Education.
• Preferred three years of teaching experience.
• Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven capability to collaborate on group projects and work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be responsible, accountable, and self-driven.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic to achieve school objectives.
• Ability to learn and apply all necessary and recommended FLVS computer applications to enhance efficiency and consistency in internal workflows and instructional practices.
