Fleet Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the strategic direction, operational effectiveness, and financial oversight of a sizable, multi-site fleet (1,000+ assets).

• Leverage fleet operations as a competitive edge by maximizing asset uptime, guaranteeing regulatory adherence, and optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO).

• Formulate and implement a 15-year fleet strategy that aligns with company growth, operational needs, and financial goals.

• Supervise the acquisition of vehicles and equipment, their specifications, usage, replacement cycles, and disposal tactics.

• Enhance fleet composition (leased versus owned) to achieve a balance between flexibility, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

• Ensure optimal fleet uptime, reliability, and service quality across all locations.

• Take ownership of fleet-related financial outcomes, including budgeting, forecasting, operational expenditure (OpEx), and capital expenditure (CapEx) planning (as applicable).

⛳️ Requirements

• 10-15+ years of progressive experience in fleet, transportation, logistics, or equipment management.

• At least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent).

• Demonstrated success in managing large, multi-location fleets (1,000+ assets preferred).

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field is required.

• Extensive understanding of fleet operations, maintenance programs, and lifecycle management.

• Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and related compliance standards.

• Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) or a similar certification is preferred.
