This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer strategic advice to fintech partners regarding BSA/AML program requirements, control expectations, and remediation efforts.
• Spearhead the creation, implementation, and enhancement of BSA/AML transaction monitoring scenarios for fintech partner initiatives.
• Adjust transaction monitoring thresholds to minimize false positives.
• Perform BSA/AML risk assessments for both new and existing fintech partners.
• Assess the effectiveness of controls and implement mitigating measures as necessary.
• Supervise CIP/KYC procedures, OFAC screening, and sanctions compliance carried out by fintech partners.
• Review financial activity to detect, investigate, and report suspicious transactions or potential fraud.
• Engage in BSA examinations with OCC examiners, including preparation, drafting responses, and implementing corrective actions.
• Construct and uphold the financial crimes component of the third-party risk management framework for fintech collaborations.
• Create and present BSA/AML training sessions for internal staff and fintech partner personnel.
• Act as the final reviewer for complex SAR investigations, ensuring timely and accurate SAR and CTR filings per FinCEN requirements.
• Keep abreast of regulatory updates and industry trends to enhance the Bank’s BSA/AML program.
• Prepare reports for the Board and senior management on BSA/AML program performance, emerging risks, and key metrics.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory compliance issues pertinent to the role.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
• Proficiency in English.
• Capacity to sit for extended periods and perform necessary physical activities such as twisting, bending, walking, reaching, balancing, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to use hands for operating office tools and controls.
• Required close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, along with the capability to adjust focus.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year institution; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive BSA/AML compliance experience in banking or financial services.
• At least 3 years of experience with fintech partnerships, BaaS programs, or digital banking platforms.
• Familiarity with OCC, FDIC, or Federal Reserve regulatory examinations.
• Experience in developing and implementing transaction monitoring programs.
• Proven track record in managing complex SAR investigations from detection to filing.
• Proficient in transaction monitoring platforms such as Verafin, Actimize, SAS, NICE Actimize, or Sardine.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to the Board and regulatory audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with standard office technology and quick to learn new systems.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for partner meetings and regulatory examinations.
• CAMS certification strongly preferred.
• CAFCA certification preferred.
• CRCM certification is a plus.
• CFE certification is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
• Familiarity with APIs and technical concepts related to digital banking.
