This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Take full ownership of all financial activities and administrative operations that support the company.
• Oversee daily cash positions across US and Colombian bank accounts and payment rail balances; proactively identify potential shortfalls.
• Implement and document intercompany funding transactions between the US and Colombian entities, including transfers settled in stablecoins.
• Manage foreign exchange conversion requirements and monitor exposure for treasury management.
• Ensure sufficient prefunding levels with payment partners to guarantee liquidity for payouts.
• Generate a weekly treasury report for the founders, detailing balances, inflows/outflows, and upcoming financial obligations.
• Maintain the consolidated runway model for both entities, tracking cash on hand, committed expenditures, and months of runway available.
• Monitor monthly burn rates (both gross and net) and provide explanations for any variations observed: what changed, why, and if the changes are structural or one-off.
• Keep a straightforward budget versus actuals view categorized by payroll, vendors, rails/infrastructure, and legal/accounting, and promptly flag any deviations.
• Prepare financial information for investor updates and discussions with the board or fundraising efforts, including details on burn, runway, and cash position.
• Analyze the cash implications of upcoming decisions (such as new hires, market launches, and vendor contracts) before finalizing contracts.
• Conduct daily and weekly reconciliations of transactions across payment providers, bank accounts, and internal ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including missing payouts, duplicate charges, provider inconsistencies, and handling of refunds and reversals.
• Develop and maintain the reconciliation process (currently using spreadsheets, with future plans for tooling); document the process to ensure its continuity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external accountants, ensuring they receive organized and complete information promptly.
• Manage the finance inbox, which includes invoices, receipts, tax notifications, and bank correspondence; ensure timely responses to all inquiries.
• Assist in the monthly closing process by gathering documentation, addressing accountant questions, and reviewing outputs for clear errors.
• Organize and file all vendor contracts, invoices, and payment confirmations systematically.
• Oversee payroll and contractor payments from start to finish (including contractors through Deel), ensuring timely execution for each cycle.
• 2-5 years of experience in treasury, finance operations, accounting, or payment operations; experience in fintech or payments is highly preferred.
• Direct experience with reconciliations (you have actively pursued discrepancies, not merely overseen the process).
• Ability to operate across international borders; familiarity with intercompany transactions is advantageous.
• Proficient spreadsheet skills, with the capability to create and maintain your own operational tools.
• Comfort with financial planning and analysis tasks: burn tracking, runway modeling, and budget versus actuals (advanced modeling is not required, but accuracy with numbers is essential).
• Exceptional reliability and meticulous attention to detail: lapses in this role can lead to silent and costly failures.
• Self-motivated: you will have the autonomy to define much of your own processes.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
• Flexible working hours and remote working options.
• Opportunities for professional development and growth.
