Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Assess submitted claim denials and rejections for correctness and adherence to payer-specific guidelines.

• Amend claim rejections and denials and initiate appeals in accordance with both internal and external protocols.

• Provide accurate responses to billing inquiries received through email, phone, or mail.

• Leverage available resources within the organization to effectively resolve claims-related issues.

• Analyze and address zero pay Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

• Manage patient billing processes, including payment plans, bill printing and mailing, and phone communications.

• Identify payer trends and propose appropriate solutions.

• Oversee the billing process, including Accounts Receivable, denial trends, payment posting, eligibility, and refunds.

• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in medical and patient billing as well as healthcare insurance company processes.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle.

• Understanding of federal and state privacy laws as they pertain to patient billing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel skills.
