This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +2 more countries.
• Take charge of the month-end closing process for multi-entity operations, ensuring preliminary financials are ready by Business Day 7 and final closes by Business Day 10.
• Prepare comprehensive entity-level P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements, reconciliations, and schedules that are audit-ready in compliance with US GAAP.
• Coordinate external audits, tax reporting, lender communications, and regulatory submissions.
• Reconcile TMS/operational software, factoring platforms, bank accounts, payroll, and the general ledger.
• Address data discrepancies, identify root causes, and enhance system integrations.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, manage aging schedules, and facilitate payment runs.
• Own and provide weekly updates on the rolling 13-week operating cash flow forecast, including variance analysis.
• Identify and escalate liquidity risks, funding needs, and overdue obligations.
• Supervise billing processes, cash applications, collections, accounts receivable aging, and reconciliations for factoring.
• Maintain customer credit registers, assess creditworthiness, monitor exposure, enforce credit limits, and generate weekly credit-risk reports.
• Lead the accounting integration for acquisitions, including the management of opening balances, system/bank transitions, payroll, and cutoff controls.
• Conduct post-close working-capital reconciliations and deliver weekly updates on integration progress.
• Provide validated financial data, conduct margin analysis, and offer variance commentary to the corporate finance team.
• Mentor and lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and staff accounting teams.
• Develop standard operating procedures, maintain service levels, and ensure effective cross-training.
• Enforce accounting policies, close timelines, payment controls, and credit holds across operational entities.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller position.
• Direct experience with multi-entity month-end closings.
• Significant experience in managing high-volume accounts payable/accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with 13-week cash forecasting.
• Experience in customer credit administration.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles.
• Understanding of internal control design.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Availability from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time (Cincinnati).
• More than 10 business days of paid time off, increasing to 15 days after 2 years of service.
