Financial Controller – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for the General Ledger (GL), ensuring its precision, integrity, and adherence to compliance standards.

• Oversee and maintain the Chart of Accounts.

• Spearhead the transition from outsourced accounting services to an in-house accounting structure.

• Direct monthly closing processes, reconciliations, and ensure financial accuracy.

• Generate monthly financial statements and management reports.

• Evaluate Profit & Loss statements and assess financial performance across various business units.

• Guarantee timely and accurate reporting for executive leadership.

• Supervise the operations of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

• Review invoices, payroll, expense reports, and vendor disbursements.

• Offer guidance and oversight to the bookkeeping team.

• Monitor cash flow and execute bank reconciliations.

• Coordinate payroll tax, sales tax, and year-end tax reporting activities.

• Ensure that accounting practices align with company policies and financial controls.

• Uphold the highest level of confidentiality when managing financial records and sensitive company data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant with full responsibility for the General Ledger (GL).

• Extensive experience in managing month-end closures and financial reporting.

• Proficient in QuickBooks.

• Experience in supervising accounting or bookkeeping teams.

• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial control mechanisms.

• High integrity with the ability to handle highly confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2) with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
