Financial Controller – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for the General Ledger (GL), ensuring its precision, integrity, and compliance.

• Oversee and manage the Chart of Accounts.

• Spearhead the transition from outsourced accounting to an in-house accounting function.

• Direct monthly closing activities, reconciliations, and maintain financial accuracy.

• Generate monthly financial statements and management reports.

• Analyze Profit & Loss statements and financial performance across various business units.

• Guarantee timely and accurate reporting for executive leadership.

• Supervise the operations of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

• Assess invoices, payroll, expense reports, and vendor payments.

• Provide direction and oversight to the bookkeeping team.

• Track cash flow and conduct bank reconciliations.

• Organize payroll tax, sales tax, and year-end tax reporting activities.

• Ensure that accounting practices align with company policies and financial controls.

• Uphold the highest standard of confidentiality when managing financial records and sensitive company information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant with complete ownership of the General Ledger (GL).

• Extensive experience in managing month-end close and financial reporting.

• Practical experience with QuickBooks.

• Experience in overseeing accounting or bookkeeping teams.

• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial controls.

• High integrity with the capability to handle highly confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2) with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
