This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while adhering to scripted benefit verification in the HIS benefits screen.
• Maintain and update accounts within the workflow system with prompt and precise documentation.
• Identify relevant medical records to ensure patient safety and arrange necessary procedures as per physician directives.
• Accurately assign insurance plans and conduct electronic eligibility checks; document findings in the appropriate systems.
• Calculate patient financial responsibility and make efforts to collect payments via phone within 48 hours of service.
• Utilize appropriate systems to enhance communication with hospital gatekeepers and accurately log account activities and collection notes as necessary.
• Exhibit curiosity and a willingness to embrace innovations, including AI, to discover improved processes that reduce friction and enhance patient and client experiences.
• High School Diploma is required; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Familiarity with admissions, billing, payments, and denials is essential.
• In-depth understanding of the patient insurance process, including authorization procedures and benefits verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/procedure codes is necessary.
• Experience in Patient Access with managed care/insurance and call center experience is highly preferred.
• Must be articulate, personable, reliable, and confident, possessing excellent communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented; builds trust and respect by consistently exceeding customer expectations.
