Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Support the month-end reconciliation process across various entities and currencies.

• Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts including bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, prepayments, GST, and intercompany accounts.

• Detect, investigate, document, and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations.

• Record general ledger entries supported by relevant working papers.

• Conduct variance analysis.

• Aid in external audits, mid-year reviews, and compliance requests.

• Review and process employee expense claims and corporate credit card transactions.

• Reconcile monthly corporate card statements and validate GST and receipt documentation.

• Manage the expense management system, including user setup, deactivation, permissions, and providing user support.

• Identify recurring exceptions to expense policies and suggest improvements to workflows or policies.

• Assist in preparing quarterly BAS workpapers and GST reconciliations.

• Help in coding tax-related journal entries.

• Prepare schedules and data extracts for tax returns, provisions, advisor inquiries, and ATO requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a finance operations role.

• Preferably experience in a multi-entity or multi-currency setting.

• Familiarity with a mid-market ERP or accounting system.

• Proficient in Excel or Sheets, including lookups, pivots, and reconciliations.

• Strong attention to detail.

• CA or CPA part-qualified candidates are preferred.

• Experience in the SaaS industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud ERP or accounting systems is preferred.

• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or regulated industries is preferred.
