This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take charge of essential finance operations by supporting payments, treasury functions, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and operational finance processes to guarantee timely and accurate execution.
• Enhance controls and precision by performing checks, reconciliations, and evaluations on financial data and operational workflows. Address discrepancies, resolve issues proactively, and boost reliability throughout processes.
• Optimize systems and workflows by utilizing Excel and Power Query to organize, clean, analyze, and enhance finance data. Assist in automating manual tasks and developing more scalable working methods.
• Collaborate with various departments by working closely with Finance, People Ops, external accountants, payroll providers, and operational teams to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication.
• Take initiative and drive improvements by working independently, identifying inefficiencies, constructively challenging weak processes, and proactively suggesting ideas to enhance the function's operations.
• 3–5 years of experience in finance operations, accounting, payroll, treasury, payments, or comparable operational finance positions.
• Proficient in Excel with solid experience in Power Query.
• Familiarity with reconciliations, financial data, and operational controls.
• High attention to detail and a quick ability to identify inconsistencies.
• Comfortable taking ownership and functioning independently.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• A mindset geared towards process improvement; you inherently seek better working methods.
• Comfortable utilizing AI/tools to enhance efficiency and resolve challenges.
• Power BI experience (nice to have).
• Experience with finance tools like Xero, Pleo, Wise, or similar (nice to have).
• Experience working across multiple countries/entities (nice to have).
• Background in supporting or enhancing operational finance processes in scaling businesses (nice to have).
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, international environments (nice to have).
