
Finance Manager – Revenue Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the monthly and quarterly revenue closing processes, which encompass journal entries, reconciliations, revenue analytics, deferred revenue analyses, accounts receivable reporting, and management reporting packages.
• Lead revenue recognition efforts in compliance with ASC 606, including contract evaluations and technical accounting assessments.
• Oversee and conduct periodic and annual reviews of deferred revenue balances to ensure timely and appropriate revenue recognition.
• Prepare and manage deferred revenue rollforwards while investigating aged or unusual balances.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Operations, and FP&A teams regarding customer contracts and their accounting treatment.
• Manage the accounts receivable aging process for retail partners, including the distribution of monthly aged statements and following up on outstanding balances.
• Work alongside retail partners and internal stakeholders to address billing disputes, deductions, collection challenges, and payment delays.
• Develop and track revenue metrics, deferred revenue analyses, accounts receivable aging, and working capital reports.
• Propel process enhancements related to revenue and order-to-cash operations.
• Assist with external audit requirements.
• Mentor and nurture junior team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting and order-to-cash processes.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and a solid understanding of ASC 606.
• Experience in managing deferred revenue balances and conducting revenue realization assessments.
• Background in overseeing accounts receivable processes, collections, and managing retail partner accounts.
• Comprehensive understanding of billing processes, customer deductions, and working capital management.
• Experience in a high-growth environment.
• Proficiency with NetSuite ERP is required.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is required.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, large data analysis, and reporting automation.
• Experience with revenue automation tools (NetSuite ARM, Zuora, Stripe, Chargebee, or similar) is considered an asset.
