Finance Manager – Controller/Admin Experience

📋 Description

• Ensure the maintenance of precise financial records, encompassing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and transaction oversight.

• Handle invoices, expenses, and payments while guaranteeing appropriate documentation and adherence to compliance standards.

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures.

• Aid in financial reporting and internal financial monitoring.

• Develop and uphold project- and department-specific budgets.

• Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with German accounting and tax regulations.

• Manage monthly payroll for our direct entity and employer of record services.

• Work alongside the People Department on relevant issues.

• Provide support for audits and financial documentation requests as necessary.

• Contribute to the enhancement of financial workflows and documentation within the organization.

• Oversee cash flow management.

• Engage in financial planning (FP&A).

• Participate in risk management activities.

• Assist with fundraising efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, controlling, and/or bookkeeping.

• Strong grasp of accounting principles, with the ability to collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local regulations (specifically in Germany).

• Familiarity with accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., Odoo, Datev).

• Proficient in working with financial data, formulas, etc., in Google Sheets and Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

• Ability to manage financial records accurately in a remote work setting, including the use of cloud storage and sharing (while maintaining strict access control).

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate asynchronously with cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in English (our primary working language) and German (utilized with some vendors) is essential. Please apply only if you are fluent in both languages.
