This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Act as the primary finance partner for the Core Events portfolio, taking ownership of event-level P&L oversight and reporting.
• Be responsible for Finance approval of event P&Ls, which includes the review, challenge, and validation of revenue, costs, and margin outcomes before closure and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the Controllership team to guarantee the accuracy of accounting practices, completeness of accruals, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Manage and mentor Event Accountants, providing feedback on their work and supporting their professional development.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including the review of journal entries, variance explanations, and management reporting outputs.
• Take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning processes for the assigned event portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with business leaders to track revenue performance, identify cost drivers, and optimize margins.
• Deliver variance analysis against plans, prior years, and the latest forecasts, accompanied by actionable insights.
• Maintain and improve financial models related to ticketing, hospitality packages, and event operations.
• Assist in contract analysis and accounting procedures (such as revenue recognition, cost capitalization, and principal vs. agent considerations).
• Ensure compliance with corporate finance policies, audit requirements, and internal control standards.
• Serve as the finance lead for major events, guaranteeing financial visibility, governance, and control in real-time.
• 5–7+ years of increasing responsibility in Finance, FP&A, or Accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
• Strongly preferred background in live events, hospitality, sports, or entertainment industries.
• Proven experience managing junior team members or leading project workstreams.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial closing processes, with experience in reviewing or owning P&L accuracy.
• Excellent financial modeling, Excel, and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of event P&L structures, cost allocation, and profitability drivers.
• Experience interacting with senior leadership and producing executive-level deliverables.
