This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• The Finance Manager plays a crucial role within our developing Finance organization, serving as the primary anchor for ensuring financial integrity throughout the Americas.
• Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will directly oversee a team of up to four individuals to guarantee compliance with statutory regulations and provide precise management reporting.
• Manage the relationship with the Shared Service Centre (SSC), ensuring high-quality service delivery and fostering continuous improvement in processes.
• Assist with regional FP&A activities—including budgeting and forecasting—and advocate for strategic initiatives such as system implementations.
• Lead and nurture the Controlling team, ensuring the successful execution of key activities such as statutory and management reporting.
• Oversee reconciliation and conversion between Group GAAP (IFRS) and Local GAAP.
• Direct efforts to verify the accuracy of statements, supervising balance sheet reconciliations.
• Propel cash flow forecasting and manage working capital targets in cooperation with Divisional and SSC teams.
• Professional Designation: A CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a Global Finance environment, showcasing a proven ability to manage and mentor direct reports.
• Technical knowledge: A thorough understanding of Controlling processes, internal controls, and proficiency in navigating both Local GAAP and IFRS.
• Compliance & Audit Savvy: Proven experience in statutory reporting, tax compliance (e.g., GST, 1099s), and establishing successful relationships with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Change Leadership: The capability to lead process and system transformations, ensuring enthusiastic adoption of "Finance Excellence" workflows among Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
• Operational Excellence: A proactive approach to managing relationships with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) and the ability to address and resolve complex accounting issues at their source.
• Analytical Rigor: Strong financial analysis capabilities with the skill to identify anomalies, recognize trends, and convert data into actionable insights for Finance Leaders.
