This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Act as the primary finance partner for the Core Events portfolio, taking ownership of event-level P&L oversight and reporting.
• Manage the Finance approval process for event P&Ls, encompassing the review, challenge, and verification of revenue, costs, and margin results before finalization and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the Controllership to ensure accurate accounting practices, thorough accruals, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Oversee and mentor Event Accountants, including reviewing their work and planning their professional development.
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including scrutinizing journal entries, explaining variances, and generating management reporting outputs.
• Take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning initiatives for the designated event portfolio.
• Collaborate with business leaders to track revenue performance, cost factors, and margin enhancement strategies.
• Deliver variance analysis against plans, previous years, and current forecasts, providing actionable insights.
• Sustain and improve financial models related to ticketing, hospitality packages, and event operations.
• Assist with contract analysis and accounting practices (e.g., revenue recognition, cost capitalization, principal vs. agent considerations).
• Ensure compliance with corporate finance policies, audit standards, and internal control protocols.
• Serve as the finance lead for significant events, ensuring real-time financial visibility, governance, and control.
• 5–7+ years of extensive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
• Background in live events, hospitality, sports, or entertainment sectors is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in managing junior team members or leading project initiatives.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial close processes, with experience in reviewing or managing P&L accuracy.
• Exceptional financial modeling, Excel, and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of event P&L structures, cost allocation, and profitability drivers.
