Finance Controller – Biotechnology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Manage daily cash reconciliation across QuickBooks Online, Authorize.net, and ACH.

• Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting alongside the fractional CFO.

• Take complete charge of the recurring billing issues and the recovery process for annual storage fees.

• Oversee the financial management of lab inventory.

• Achieving success within 90 days means having zero errors in financial records, implementing at least one significant improvement in collections or reporting processes, and reducing the days-to-close.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in financial operations, including daily transaction matching, cash reconciliation, month-end closing support, and financial reporting.

• Proven expertise in QuickBooks Online with hands-on experience in multi-account reconciliation and financial reporting workflows.

• Documented experience in managing or revamping accounts receivable, recurring billing, or payment recovery processes within a subscription or recurring revenue model.

• Demonstrated use of AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for financial analysis, reporting automation, or process optimization—along with a track record of implementing financial automation solutions.

• Experience in integrating data across multiple systems (CRM, accounting platform, and payment processor) while maintaining full accountability for accuracy across the entire stack.

• At least 2 years of experience as the primary or sole finance operator in an organization with fewer than 50 employees, showcasing autonomous execution with limited oversight.

• Proficiency in English at C1+ (CEFR) level is required for effective collaboration with US-based leadership and the fractional CFO.
