Finance and Accounting Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee finance and accounting integration efforts for Day 1 legal closure and TSA (Transition Services Agreement) exit.

• Create and oversee comprehensive integration workplans, timelines, and functional roadmaps.

• Facilitate end-to-end integration planning across accounting operations, financial controls, and systems.

• Design and document future-state finance processes, workflows, and organizational structures.

• Assist with ERP and financial system transition and cutover activities.

• Align seller chart of accounts (COA) with buyer COA for reporting and operational continuity.

• Coordinate and document purchase price accounting (PPA) and opening balance sheet entries.

• Develop Day 1 closure plans, accounting timelines, and transition milestones.

• Collaborate with finance, accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment across integration activities.

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies related to finance and accounting integration.

• Support planning for disengagement from seller-provided accounting and financial TSAs.

• Provide regular status updates, reporting, and executive-level communication throughout the project lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in finance, accounting, or ERP integration initiatives.

• Hands-on experience with finance and accounting integration during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.

• Strong knowledge of accounting operations, financial reporting, controls, and closing processes.

• Experience in leading ERP or financial system implementations and cutover activities.

• Familiarity with chart of accounts mapping and financial data migration.

• Ability to create detailed project plans, workstreams, and governance structures.

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Enertia ERP is highly preferred.

• Background working with multiple ERP systems and system migrations.

• Experience in the oil & gas, energy, or asset-intensive industries is preferred.

• CPA, PMP, or related certification is an advantage.

• Experience supporting TSA transitions and post-close integration activities is preferred.
