Finance & Accounts Executive – SaaS Startup

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily Finance & Accounting functions

• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, and reconciliations

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures

• Compile financial statements, schedules, and Management Information System (MIS) reports

• Ensure compliance of accounting practices with US GAAP

• Support SaaS revenue accounting, handling deferred revenue, accruals, and prepaid accounting

• Coordinate audits, compliance checks, and finance documentation

• Aid the Finance Director with finance-related projects, reporting, controls, and process enhancements

• Collaborate across functions with business, HR, payroll, and operations teams

• Take ownership of hands-on finance operations while working closely with the Finance Director

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com or M.Com)

• Professional certification: Chartered Accountant (CA - Semi-qualified/Qualified) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

• 4 to 6 years of pertinent experience in Finance & Accounting

• Experience with US startups or managing accounting/reporting in compliance with US GAAP

• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in the software/SaaS industry

• Practical experience with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable operations, General Ledger, month-end closing, financial statements, account reconciliations, and compliance/audit support

• Knowledge of SaaS finance operations, focusing on revenue recognition, deferred revenue, subscription billing, collections and renewals support, and customer invoicing cycles

• Familiarity with ASC 606 is preferred

• Proficient in Excel

• Experience with QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, or similar ERP systems utilized by global startups

• Capability to work independently with minimal oversight

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic startup environment

• Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset

• Problem-solving attitude and readiness to adopt a hands-on approach

• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
