Fighter MFOQA Flight Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Employ software to assess recorded aircraft data and flight information concerning Triggered Events (TEs) and Routine Operational Measurements (ROMs)

• Confirm and validate aircraft-specific measurement sets

• Generate trends in flight operations and conduct special studies

• Identify hazardous conditions and risks

• Support the ACC MFOQA Program Manager in the ACC's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)

• Promote the goals, advantages, and appropriate applications of the MFOQA/ASAP program within ACC, CAF, and the Air Force, including AFSEC's Proactive Aviation Safety

• Assist the analysis team in developing, implementing, and maintaining processes that enhance the collection, reporting, analysis, quality control, and visualization of MFOQA and ASAP data, transforming it into actionable insights for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and tracking operational hazards

• Provide expertise in Fighter operational settings, the missions executed, and the maneuvers conducted during those missions

• Regularly interface with the analysis team, ACC personnel, AFSEC staff, and units to pinpoint areas of interest; produce analytical products; present emerging trends, hazards, and risks; and share analysis results and corrective measures (within and outside ACC/CAF)

• Collaborate with the ACC MFOQA Program Manager to identify trends and deviations from standard protocols and parameters; propose corrective measures

• Create informational articles, briefings, case studies, cost-benefit analyses, marketing materials, and training resources for stakeholders and designated users throughout the CAF and targeted bases, focusing on MFOQA and ASAP safety findings, corrective actions, program plans, objectives, benefits, timelines, and future directions

• Assist the ACC MFOQA Program Manager with long-term funding requirements and POM submissions

• Support MFOQA/ASAP-related meetings, including MFOQA Program Management Reviews, discussions with Sister Services, Aircraft Information Working Groups, System Safety Groups, industry safety forums, and presentations to Air Staff, ACC, AFSEC, and program office personnel

• Engage in working groups and design reviews to ensure that MFOQA requirements are integrated into any proposed enhancements to flight recorders and other data acquisition systems

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher

• At least 10 years of flight experience as a fighter pilot or Weapons System Operator (WSO)

• Instructor/Evaluator/Weapons Officer experience in F-16, F-15, F-22, or F-35 is highly preferred

• Experience with Joint, HAF, MAJCOM, or NAF staff is a plus

• Formal USAF Safety Training is a plus

• General understanding of the Guard and Reserve components of ACC

• Military aviation experience and extensive knowledge of fighter aircraft operational contexts, operating characteristics, standards, missions executed, and the maneuvers performed with military fighter aircraft

• Familiarity with aviation safety programs, including MFOQA, ASAP, and LOSA, along with operational risk management and processes

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across all levels, from headquarters staff to squadron operations and maintenance

• Proficiency in analytical and database software is desired (Excel, Tableau, etc.)
