This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide thorough classroom, online, and hands-on technical training.
• Acquire expertise in the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Coordinate Measuring Machines and associated metrology instruments.
• Support senior technicians in equipment installations, customer service interactions, preventive maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Carry out assigned service tasks under supervision and independently after completing necessary training.
• Identify basic mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and system-related problems.
• Refer complex technical challenges to senior technicians or technical support teams.
• Examine equipment and suggest follow-up actions.
• Utilize authorized tools, diagnostic instruments, and service protocols.
• Deliver prompt, solution-oriented customer support and relay service findings and equipment status.
• Manage customer expectations and facilitate the resolution of client concerns with internal teams.
• Prepare service reports, work orders, calibration records, expense reports, and other necessary documentation.
• Keep precise records of equipment, services, expenses, and inventory.
• Oversee assigned tools, spare parts, consumables, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with service, deployment, receiving, and warehouse teams.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, quality standards, security protocols, customer-site requirements, and service procedures.
• Safely operate company vehicles and material-handling equipment.
• Perform additional related tasks as needed.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and French is mandatory.
• Possession of a college diploma or university degree in electronics, electromechanical engineering technology, industrial mechanics, mechatronics, or a similar technical field.
• An equivalent combination of pertinent technical training and hands-on work experience may be acceptable.
• Prior experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of industrial electronics, mechanical equipment, machinery, or computer-controlled systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with CMMs, precision measurement systems, or industrial metrology tools is considered an advantage.
• Required working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Previous experience in customer service or field service is seen as beneficial.
• Strong aptitude in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer domains.
• Capability to grasp technical concepts, equipment, software, and service methods.
• Basic skills in diagnostics, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, drawings, and instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in clearly and professionally explaining technical information.
• Strong skills in customer service and relationship development.
• Well-organized, with effective planning and time management skills.
• Ability to produce accurate service and expense documentation.
• Capacity to juggle multiple assignments and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic service environment.
• Competence to work independently after the requisite training is completed.
