This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• As a Level 2 Fuel Handling Equipment Field Service Technician, you will assist our FHE Outage and Maintenance Services team.
• Your role involves supporting nuclear fuel handling equipment or outage-critical cranes.
• You will provide field service support at remote operating nuclear power plants as well as at local service center operations.
• Utilizing high-tech service equipment, you will uphold Westinghouse's commitment to safety and quality standards.
• You will report directly to the Fuel Handling Equipment Outage and Maintenance Supervisor.
• Your responsibilities include installing, setting up, and maintaining fuel handling and outage-critical crane equipment at customer locations globally.
• You will thoroughly review operational and maintenance procedures, along with technical drawings.
• Support engineering and training initiatives by engaging in activities such as equipment modifications, setup, testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and qualifications.
• Document performance issues with equipment during field operations and ensure that corrective measures are implemented prior to the next scheduled use.
• Participate in training programs to obtain and maintain certifications while keeping up-to-date with technology and procedures.
• Record all quality-related concerns.
• Embrace a "Safety First" mindset as an integral part of your work.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas.
• Retain "Unescorted Access" status at nuclear power plant sites.
• Foster team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments.
• Exhibit strong customer sensitivity.
• Regularly report the status of fieldwork progress, changes, issues, and errors to the service supervisor on a daily basis or as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent, along with a 2-year post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
• Specific training and knowledge in electrical, electronic, programmable logic controllers, or mechanical components.
• At least 2 years of experience demonstrating proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and programmable logic controller skills.
• Experience in the nuclear industry is advantageous.
• This position is subject to Westinghouse and customer security requirements, including unescorted access and fitness for responsibility programs.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
• The individual must possess full range of motion, which includes the ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for up to 4 hours a day.
