Field Service Technician II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Initiate and commission equipment while providing post-start-up field services primarily for clients in data centers.

• Strategically plan and execute service tasks based on customer orders, expectations, work instructions, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.

• Provide exceptional customer service and clearly communicate service timelines and expectations.

• Organize and prepare site work for larger project teams, managing related subcontractors on-site.

• Ensure tasks are executed correctly on the first attempt and complete assignments within deadlines.

• Collaborate with Site Managers and Senior Field Service Technicians to identify areas for improvement and propose potential solutions.

• Diagnose equipment, system, and process failures; request corrective measures and suggest preventive enhancements.

• Gather data and generate timely reports to facilitate fleet performance analysis, marketing insights, and service sales opportunities.

• Aid customers with spare parts ordering, resolving issues, and provisioning.

• Carry out responsibilities in Power Delivery, Medium and Low Voltage Electrification, and Control Systems.

• Maintain documentation related to assignments and complete reports and test results utilizing job-specific software.

• Lead activities related to site Health, Safety, and Environment, report unsafe practices and incidents, and adhere to safety and environmental regulations.

• Quickly arrange travel upon receiving assignments.

• Wear the necessary personal protective equipment and uniforms.


⛳️ Requirements

• Theoretical knowledge in all facets of electrical design.

• High school diploma/GED with 5 years of practical electrical/electronics engineering experience; OR an associate degree/trade certification with 3 years of experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience; OR a high school diploma/GED with 3 years of equivalent work or military experience in servicing critical power equipment.

• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), safety codes and regulations, and QA requirements.

• Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to drive quality improvements.

• Capability to collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and management personnel across all levels.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.

• Knowledgeable in Google Suite products, including Sheets, Docs, Drive, and Slides.

• Understanding of project issue-resolution software such as BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, and Procore.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with external customers, vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders.

• Preferred experience with Emerson RX3i and Proficy Machine Edition, ABB AC500 PLC and Automation Builder, CP600 HMI and PanelBuilder, Zenon, and Cimplicity.

• Preferred skills in computer networking, Wireshark, IED Scout, relay testing and configuration, and RTAC configuration.

• Must be proficient in written and spoken English.

• Currently authorized to work and reside in the United States.

• Willingness and ability to travel 90–100% throughout the United States, including long-term assignments lasting consecutive weeks.

• Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment and uniforms.
