This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +10 more states.
β’ Act as the West Coast regional representative between Slate service repair facilities and the Service, Quality, and Engineering teams to swiftly identify root causes and suggest repair solutions for Slate product issues.
β’ Offer on-site support to service repair facilities and technicians upon request.
β’ Deliver expert repair advice to service technicians on intricate technical challenges.
β’ Assist service technicians with high voltage battery pack testing, repairs, replacements, discharging, and reactivation.
β’ Monitor and relay in-field issue resolutions to guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.
β’ Collaborate with Slate Parts, Quality, and Logistics teams to facilitate part ordering escalation and returns.
β’ Provide assistance to Slate Sales and Slate Customer Care to address customer concerns and handle case escalations.
β’ Identify ECU software and calibration issues, gather data logs, and document findings for Engineering and supplier assessment.
β’ Collaborate with the Slate Warranty team regarding warranty claim disputes, approvals, and goodwill authorizations.
β’ Ensure compliance with service center certification standards.
β’ Maintain a consistent and efficient repair strategy throughout the Slate service network.
β’ Oversee service repair processes and propose future training opportunities to the Service and Slate University teams.
β’ Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
β’ An AAS in Automotive Technology or equivalent education/vocational training (trade schools, etc.) is preferred but not mandatory, provided there is relevant and comparable professional experience.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive service and repair in a technician capacity.
β’ At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with high voltage electric vehicles (EV) and systems, encompassing high voltage diagnostic troubleshooting, testing, and ecosystem knowledge.
β’ Over 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive field technical support.
β’ OEM, ASE, and/or State Certifications, including EV Certification β Master Certification is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with diagnostic tools, including data logging and ECU flash reprogramming.
β’ Experience with technical publications, including wiring diagrams, repair instructions, diagnostic troubleshooting charts, and Engineering technical specifications.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly regarding technical content.
β’ Detail-oriented with a commitment to achieving the highest standards of excellence.
β’ A creative problem solver capable of devising straightforward solutions to complex challenges.
β’ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment.
β’ Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all management levels.
